about the winemaker

Experienced winemaker Marco Flacco has nearly 20 years of winemaking experience with a philosophy orientated around preserving the natural quality of the grapes from vineyard to bottle. Marco firmly believes in sustainability all the way along the production chain, starting at the vineyard, with meticulous vineyard management that allows quality to shine through in the wines.

Primitivo is a southern Italian grape variety, known in other parts of the world as Zinfandel. It is a dark skinned grape that produces intense, dark rich reds.

Zinfandel is most commonly associated with California where it produces rich, dark berry flavoured wines with a hint of spice. Primitivo is the Italian version, producing inky-dark wines with complex flavours of prunes, blackberries and spice.

Deriving from the Latin ‘primus’, Primitivo means first born or original.

a superb primitivo
if you like your Sicilian reds dont hesitate to try this one. Better than many that are way more expensive.

undrinkable!
Love a puglia primativo and bought this based on the good reviews. However we took one sip and both of us were in shock with the harsh taste that hit us. Perhaps this was corked or something wrong, however it was absolutely disgusting and couldnt continue even another sip.
