Founded in 1928, Casa Vinicola Botter remains a family-run winery that champions organic growing methods. Not only does the winery manage the vines without the need for chemicals, but it runs entirely on renewable energy to create a sustainable, ethical business. We work closely with the team there to select the best Primitivo grapes for this luscious, moreish red.
Full bodied, rich and velvety, our Primitivo has intense black and red berry fruit flavours with a hunt of prunes and a deep, dark chocolate finish.
There are no rules but we love this deep, rich red with tomato-based pasta dishes or hearty winter casseroles.
Contains sulphur dioxide / sulphites
Suitable for vegans and vegetarians

Primitivo is a southern Italian grape variety, known in other parts of the world as Zinfandel. It is a dark skinned grape that produces intense, dark rich reds.
Zinfandel is most commonly associated with California where it produces rich, dark berry flavoured wines with a hint of spice. Primitivo is the Italian version, producing inky-dark wines with complex flavours of prunes, blackberries and spice.
Deriving from the Latin ‘primus’, Primitivo means first born or original.
